Growing up in South Africa working as a Civil Engineer and playing professional rugby, an opportunity arrived in 2000 to play for the Charlotte Olde Originals. We found our new home, and the love for trees grew immediately. Working in the industry for 22 years, dragging brush, pruning trees, leading a crew, and managing the largest company in the area, I realized we could do more.  

Our entire philosophy about looking at trees changed when our daughters were born. It takes 100 years to grow a 100-year-old tree, and even though we can't save them all, we can certainly keep them around safely and healthy. By planting native trees in our landscape, we can make that 1% change daily to give our kids a fighting chance—"This is the Way."
